WordPress says goodbye to IE6

wordpressWordPress has discontinued support for Internet Explorer 6 in its latest update. The company has explained that it has had to use increasingly complex code trickery to make the Dashboard work in IE6, and has finally decided to end support to a decade old browser.
The famous blogging CMS said in a blog post that it plans to roll out the new WordPress 3.2 version out of its beta phase by the end of June. The beta version , WordPress 3.2 beta is already available for download.

IE6 has been troubling the software developers and designers all over the world because of IE’s lack of support to standards.IE6 which has been in the market for the last one decade or so has been forcing the developers to write new codes for supporting this browser which often results in conflicts with the original codes.Microsoft has even launched a The Internet Explorer 6 Countdown,which shows that still around 11.4% people around the globe use this browser,a majority being in China with around 34.6%.

If you log-in to WordPress 3.2 beta Dashboard, using IE6 , though you would be able to do so,it looks pretty broken and shows notice in orange background saying “You are using an insecure browser!”. The notice box points users to various “Browse Happy” options available for browser upgrade.
