Blogging seems to be the perfect epitome of the latest craze among
youths and older generation alike. There are blogs on almost every topic
one can think about, and various kinds of them – personal blogs, social
blogs, and professional blogs. But with so much competition in the
blogging industry, knowing how to go about your work is of utmost
importance. Unlike many other professions where you are required to
continually work for a minimum of 8 hours a day in order to sustain your
income, blogging gives you the leeway to relax a bit and yet continue
to enjoy resounding success. However, contrary to the popular belief,
you still need to devote time to your blog to ensure it grows and
continues to grow in the future as well. Here are some tips that will
help you become a better blogger than you presently are:
1. Stick to a Schedule
No matter how well your blog is going, or how many visitors it is
getting, it is still important to stick to a predefined schedule to
ensure all aspects related to your blog and blogging in general are
covered equally well. In the absence of a proper schedule, most amateur
bloggers make the mistake of devoting too much time towards improving
their blog design, or optimizing their pages for proper keywords, but in
the process they tend to ignore the other important aspects. Your
schedule should primarily include things like back linking, on-page
optimization, commenting on other blogs, researching topics and writing
content.
2. Post Frequently
Another blunder committed by most, if not all bloggers is not
establishing a regular posting frequency, which results in lack of
readership along with a negative impact on your blog’s position in
search engine rankings. I don’t mean to say you have to post everyday,
or every few hours, but what you need to do is to determine the ideal
posting frequency for yourself which you can continue to stick to for a
long period of time. It can be anywhere from posting once a day to every
alternate day to 2-3 times a week, but the most important thing is to
ensure you continue following it, no matter what the circumstances might
be.
3. Improve Blog Readership
Once you’ve established a long term blogging and posting schedule,
the next part is to work on engaging the readers on your blog and
improving the readership so that your blog can become an authority on
the topic you have chosen. Although there are various ways of engaging
your readers, the most important thing is to establish a rapport with
them so that they start trusting you and your words have a more profound
effect on them. Make sure you interact with your readers on a regular
basis and respond to their comments on the blog posts. You can also
provide RSS feeds and email subscriptions to keep the readers connected
to your blog, thereby garnering their loyalty for the future.
