The reason is because, one of the Apple’s workers left the phone in a bar in San Francisco, a Mexican city where the bar is located.
According to the news emanating from Mashable, the original date for the next release date of the iPhone 5 device will be on Oct 4 at exactly 10pm. Lance Ulanoff, a tech writer from Mashable confirms this.
