Lenovo, an electronics giant mainly renowned for its laptops has
stepped up the gas by launching its series of tablets in India. The
tablets, namely Ideapad K1, Ideapad A1 and Thinkpad have screen sizes
ranging from 7 inches to 10.1 inches, while the price varies from Rs.
14,990 to Rs. 46,900 for the top most model. Though the Thinkpad tablet
is for enterprise customers, Ideapad K1 & A1 are meant for regular
consumers.
The Ideapad K1, a 10.1-inch tablet runs on Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS and is powered by a 1GHz Tegra T20 processor. It is a 3G supported tablet and comes with impressive features such as Bluetooth and USB 2.0, GPS, 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera.
Ideapad A1, on the other hand, is more of a handheld device, boasting a 7-inch display and running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Powered by 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, the tablet weighs a mere 400 grams and comes at a price of around Rs. 15000.
The Lenovo Thinkpad, which is the best of the pack, comes with additional features & security options including data enryption, anti-theft, digitizer pen and integrated cloud sharing to name a few. It features a 10.1 inch display, runs on Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS powered & is powered by 1GHz Tegra 2 processor. Weighing around 700 grams, the tablet is available at a rather hefty price tag of Rs. 46,900.
All the three tablets will be made available at 700 Lenovo stores across the country by the end of October.
