Import Contacts from CSV File into Microsoft Outlook 2010 [How To]

If you have a contact list on the CSV format and would like to import it into Microsoft Outlook 2010, here’s a tutorial for that.
- Open Microsoft Outlook 2010 from your Start Menu or the desktop icon.
- Click on File followed by Open and then on the Import option.
- Now you would come across a variety of import options but you have to select the fifth one from the list, that is “Import from another program or file“. Click on Next.
- Again you’ll find a number of options to choose from. Select “Comma Separated Values (Windows)” followed by Next.
- In the next step you simply have to browse your system for the CSV file you wish to import into Outlook 2010. Select “Do not import duplicate items” option and click on Next again.

- Now select the folder in which you want the contacts file to be stored and click on Next.
- A window will appear showing you what actions will be performed. Click on the “Map Custom Fields” option next to the name of the file that will be imported.
- You don’t have to alter any settings here, so just click on OK.
- Finally click on Finish to complete the process.
Your contacts will successfully be imported into Microsoft Outlook 2010.
